Blepharoplasty is surgical modification of the eyelid. Excess tissue such as skin and fat are removed or repositioned, and surrounding muscles and tendons may be reinforced. It can be both a functional and cosmetic surgery.

Blepharoplasty for the upper eyelids of elderly patients

Blepharoplasty for the upper eyelids of elderly patients is surgery that includes repairing droopy eyelids by removing excess skin, muscle and fat. As you age, your eyelids stretch, and the muscles supporting them weaken. As a result, excess fat may gather above and below your eyelids, causing sagging eyebrows, drooping upper lids and bags under your eyes. Besides making you look older, severely sagging skin around your eyes can impair your peripheral or side vision. Blepharoplasty can reduce or eliminate such impaired vision. Blepharoplasty is usually done on an outpatient basis. To help decide if blepharoplasty is right for you, find out what you can realistically expect, and take time to explore the benefits and risks of blepharoplasty.

Double fold surgery for Asian young patients - Continuous Burried Suture Method

Asian eyelid surgery is not about westernizing the eyes. There are many methods of eyelid surgery for Asian young patients. We select the right method for the patient. Western eyelids have a different structure than Asian eyelids, so it is necessary to use different styles of blepharoplasty for each race. To make double folds on upper eyelids, we mainly use 'Continuous Burried Suture Method', which is a non-surgical procedure for making permanent double folds on upper eyelids for Asian young patients.

Levator shortening with partial incision

Levator shortening procedure is one of blepharoplasty technique to correct ptosis or to make eyes bigger. With a small incision on each upper eyelid, we can reinforce the levator muscle to make eyes open clearly. Since we make just a small incision(about 1cm) along the double fold line, surgery scars are not so noticeable a few month later.
